How do you get into Canyon Lake's gates?
You pre-authorize us as a guest, the same way you would a contractor. Canyon Lake is both a city and a gated community, incorporated on December 1, 1990, and access is limited to residents and their guests. The gates are staffed around the clock.
Here is how it works for a glass appointment:
- Add us as a guest through the Canyon Lake POA's guest system before the appointment. You can use the GoAccess app, the resident website, or the POA's automated guest phone line. Under the POA's rules, service providers show a driver's license at the gate and get a pass valid for up to 10 days.
- We use the East Gate or North Gate. The POA does not allow commercial or oversized vehicles through the Main Gate on Railroad Canyon Road. Commercial vehicles enter at the East Gate off Goetz Road or the North Gate off Greenwald Avenue, which leads onto Longhorn Drive. We plan our route to your street from whichever gate is closer.
- We park near your address, as the POA requires for service providers, and do the work in your driveway or garage.
Where in Canyon Lake we come to you
Canyon Lake is small, about 11,000 residents in 2020, but the streets wind around the reservoir and the drive from gate to gate takes a while. The Main Gate and East Gate are 1.5 miles apart by Railroad Canyon Road, and the East and North Gates are about 3.7 miles apart.
We come to every part of the community: the neighborhoods around Holiday Harbor Park, Eastport Park, Sierra Park, Indian Beach and Diamond Point Park, the homes off Longhorn Drive on the north side, and the streets near Canyon Lake Lodge. If your driveway is steep, a garage or a flat spot on the street works better.
Why windshields crack around Canyon Lake
Most Canyon Lake chips happen outside the gates. Only two public roads lead in: Railroad Canyon Road, the main road, which connects to Lake Elsinore and Menifee, and Goetz Road, which connects the east side to Quail Valley and Perris. Everyone heading to I-15 drives Railroad Canyon Road, and much of the commute ends up on I-15 or I-215 with their truck traffic.
Inside the gates, residents use the lake for boating, so tow vehicles share the streets with everyday traffic. Summer heat around the reservoir is enough to turn a fresh chip into a crack, especially if you leave the car in the sun and then cool it down fast with the A/C. Read what to do when a rock hits your windshield.
What it costs in Canyon Lake
The gates don't change the price. Mobile service is included at our posted prices: chip repair from $98, windshield replacement from $279, and $549 with calibration. Prices updated November 2026. See pricing.
With insurance, glass is usually under comprehensive and you pay your deductible. California Insurance Code 758.5 lets you pick your own shop. Your insurer can suggest one but cannot require it. See our insurance claims page.
Camera calibration in Canyon Lake
If your car has a camera behind the mirror, the automaker almost always requires calibration after a new windshield. Some cars need a drive on clearly marked roads at steady speeds, which means driving out of the gates. Others need a static setup on a level driveway or parking lot with room for the targets. We tell you which method your car needs before we book, and if it can't be done safely where the car is parked, we explain your options. You get a printed result.
