Privacy policy
We collect only what you send us to get a quote or book service: your name, phone, email, ZIP code, vehicle, VIN and notes. We use it to quote and serve you, we do not sell it, and California residents can ask us to see, correct or delete it.
Effective date: November 1, 2026
This policy explains what information The Windshield Co. collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are a small local business, and we've tried to write this in plain English.
What information do we collect?
We collect the information you choose to give us. When you use our quote form, you may send:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Your ZIP code
- Your vehicle's year, make and model
- Your vehicle identification number (VIN)
- Photos of the damage, if you add them
- Notes about the damage, your schedule or your location
- The service you need, your windshield features, and whether you plan to pay with insurance or cash
When you call or text us, we receive your phone number and anything you send, such as photos of the damage. If you book service using insurance, we also receive the claim details needed to complete the job.
We do not ask for payment card numbers through this website.
How is the information sent?
Quote form submissions are sent to us by email through a third-party form-to-email service. That service processes the submission only to deliver it to us. If you enter a VIN, or pick your make and model, the form looks up vehicle details through a free public database run by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). If you use the Scan VIN button, your photo is read on your own device and is not uploaded to us. If you add photos of the damage to the form, they are stored with a third-party image hosting service so we can see them with your request. Please don't include anything in a photo that you wouldn't want shared, because anyone with the link can view it. Texts and calls reach us through our phone service provider.
How do we use your information?
We use it to:
- Reply to your quote request and give you a price
- Look up the correct glass for your vehicle by VIN
- Schedule and perform service at your location
- Work with your insurance company on a claim, if you choose insurance
- Send appointment reminders and follow up on completed work, including warranty service
- Keep business and tax records as the law requires
Text messages and how to stop them
When you send the quote form, you agree that we can email or call you about your quote. If you text us, we may reply by text about your quote, appointment and service. We do not send marketing texts unless you ask for them.
Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving messages from us. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan.
Do we sell or share your information?
No. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share information only when needed to do the work you asked for or when the law requires it. That includes the service providers that deliver our form submissions, texts and email, your insurance company if you file a claim, and glass suppliers when we order a part for your vehicle (usually by VIN).
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, may give you these rights:
- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it
- Right to delete personal information we collected from you, with some exceptions such as records we must keep
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still ask.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect it for that purpose.
- Right not to be discriminated against for using any of these rights
To make a request, contact us using the email on our contact page or call (951) 364-2300. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. You can also use an authorized agent.
Cookies and tracking
At launch, this website does not use advertising cookies or ad-tracking pixels. If we add analytics or advertising tools later, we will update this policy first.
Some pages include an embedded Google Map. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads, under Google's privacy policy.
How long do we keep information?
We keep quote requests and job records as long as we need them to serve you, honor our warranty, and meet tax and business record requirements. We delete information we no longer need.
How do we protect it?
We limit access to the people who need it to serve you and use reputable service providers. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please don't send anything through the form that isn't needed for your quote.
Children's privacy
This site is meant for adults arranging vehicle service. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
