What we do in Hemet
We bring the glass and the tools to you. In Hemet that means:
- Windshield replacement matched to your VIN, from older sedans to new SUVs with cameras
- Rock chip repair for chips smaller than a quarter
- ADAS calibration for lane keeping and auto braking, with a printed result
- Side window replacement and back glass after a break-in or a rock
Where in Hemet we come to you
Hemet sits in the San Jacinto Valley, about 1,600 feet up, with Diamond Valley Lake to the south and the Santa Rosa Hills and San Jacinto Mountains around it. The 2020 census counted 89,833 residents. We cover the whole city.
- Downtown Hemet, around State Street and Florida Avenue, and the shops along West Florida Avenue near the Hemet Valley Mall.
- 55-and-over communities such as Seven Hills, Four Seasons at Hemet, Solera Diamond Valley and Panorama Village. Many residents here prefer to stay home and let us work in the driveway. If your community has a gate or guest rules, add us to the list when you book.
- Mobile home parks. Hemet grew in the 1960s largely through mobile home parks and retirement communities, and many are still here. We need a spot beside the car with room to open both front doors. Check whether your park office wants a heads-up for service vehicles.
- The south side near Domenigoni Parkway, the Western Science Center at Domenigoni and Searl Parkways, and the neighborhoods toward Diamond Valley Lake.
- East Hemet and Valle Vista, the unincorporated communities just east of the city along State Route 74. We come to both.
- Workplaces, including the area around Hemet Valley Medical Center and offices along Sanderson Avenue and Stetson Avenue.
Why windshields crack around Hemet
Hemet drivers deal with long state highways, heavy construction ahead, and serious heat. Florida Avenue is the city's main east-west road, and it carries both State Route 74 and, for a few miles, State Route 79. That means highway traffic, including trucks, right through town. East of the city, SR-74 continues through Valle Vista and climbs into the San Jacinto Mountains.
Big road projects are coming. The planned SR-79 Realignment will be a new road roughly 12 miles long connecting Winchester, Hemet and San Jacinto. The Mid County Parkway corridor runs between Route 79 in the Hemet Valley and I-215 in Perris, and the Ramona Expressway part of it is under construction from April 2026 into 2028. Work zones mean gravel and trucks.
Then there is the heat. Hemet's average daily high is about 96°F in July and 97°F in August, and the record is 116°F. Hot glass with a chip in it, plus a blast of cold A/C, is the most common way a small chip turns into a long crack. Read why rock chips spread in heat.
What it costs in Hemet
The same posted prices apply across Hemet: chip repair from $98, windshield replacement from $279, and $549 with calibration. Prices updated November 2026. See pricing.
With insurance, glass is usually covered under comprehensive and you pay your deductible. If your deductible is higher than our price, paying directly may cost less. California Insurance Code 758.5 lets you choose your own shop. See does insurance cover windshield replacement.
Does my car need calibration after a new windshield?
If there is a camera behind the mirror, almost always. We check your VIN first and tell you in writing before we start, then give you a printed calibration result. Some cars calibrate during a drive on clearly marked roads, and some need a static setup on a level driveway or lot with room for targets. If that can't be done safely where your car is parked, we will tell you before we book.
