Where in Lake Elsinore we come to you
Lake Elsinore wraps around the largest natural freshwater lake in Southern California, so the city is long and spread out. The 2020 census counted 70,265 residents. We cover all of it.
- The Lake Elsinore Hills district east of I-15: Tuscany Hills, Canyon Hills and Rosetta Canyon. Railroad Canyon Road is the main route into this side of town. If your neighborhood has a gate or HOA parking rules, tell us when you book and we will follow them.
- Country Club Heights, the hillside district with historic homes and Aimee's Castle. On hillside streets we need a fairly level spot, so a driveway or a flat stretch of curb is best.
- Alberhill, the north end of the city near I-15, with rolling terrain and a long mining history.
- Downtown and the lakefront: Main Street, Lakeshore Drive and the Four Corners area at Riverside and Lakeshore Drives.
- Businesses near I-15, including the Outlets at Lake Elsinore on Collier Avenue at Nichols Road and the area around the Lake Elsinore Diamond, home of the Lake Elsinore Storm. We can meet you in a lot.
- Lakeland Village, the unincorporated community next to the city. We come there too.
Why windshields crack around Lake Elsinore
In Lake Elsinore, most chips come from I-15 and State Route 74. Interstate 15 runs the length of the city, connecting south to Temecula and north to Corona, and carries heavy truck traffic. The I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange was rebuilt between 2020 and 2022, and Railroad Canyon Road remains the main route east to Canyon Lake and Menifee.
State Route 74 runs through the middle of town. It comes down from the Santa Ana Mountains as the Ortega Highway, follows Grand Avenue and Riverside Drive along the shore, turns onto Collier Avenue and Central Avenue, and meets I-15. Through town it is a busy surface road with signals and stop-and-go traffic.
The lake adds its own traffic. On warm weekends, trucks towing boats and personal watercraft head for the lake and launch areas such as Launch Pointe. Trailer tires throw road grit at the vehicle behind them.
Summer heat finishes the job. Lake Elsinore's record high is 118°F, and summers here are hot and nearly rainless. A chip in a car parked at the lake all day can crack by evening. See why rock chips spread in heat.

With insurance, glass is usually under comprehensive and you pay your deductible. In California your insurer can recommend a shop but cannot require you to use it (Insurance Code 758.5). Read how glass claims work.
Do you calibrate cameras in Lake Elsinore?
Yes. If your car or tow vehicle has a camera behind the mirror, the automaker almost always calls for calibration after a new windshield. We check your VIN first, tell you in writing, and give you a printed result after. Some calibrations need a drive on clearly marked roads, and some need a static setup on a level driveway or lot with room for targets. If your spot won't work, we tell you before we book.
