Is French Valley part of Murrieta or Temecula?
Neither. French Valley is an unincorporated census-designated place governed by Riverside County, not a city. It sits east of Murrieta and north of Temecula, and the 2020 census counted 35,280 residents. Its homes use Murrieta (92563) or Winchester (92596) mailing addresses. Some park and shopping addresses here say Winchester too, such as Abelia Sports Park on Winchester Road and the shopping center on Benton Road with Stater Bros. and CVS.
This matters when you book. If your address says Murrieta or Winchester but you live off Winchester Road near the airport, you are in French Valley, and we come to you at the same posted price.
Where in French Valley we come to you
French Valley is almost all newer subdivisions, and we work in all of them.
- Neighborhoods off State Route 79 (Winchester Road), the main road through the valley, from the Murrieta border north toward Winchester.
- Rancho Bella Vista, around the park and the French Valley Community Center on Browning Street.
- Newer tracts such as Siena and Heritage Ranch and the streets around Abelia Sports Park at Abelia Street and Winchester Road.
- Homes near French Valley Airport, the county-owned airport on Highway 79, which opened in 1989.
- The Benton Road area and its shopping center. We can meet you in the lot while you shop.
- Schools. If it is easier, we can replace the glass in a staff lot at a school such as French Valley Elementary or Dorothy McElhinney Middle, with permission from the school.
Many French Valley homes have HOA rules about street parking. If your HOA limits work vehicles, tell us when you book and we will park in the driveway or a guest spot.
Why windshields crack in French Valley
For French Valley drivers, nearly every trip starts on Winchester Road. State Route 79 is the main route between French Valley, Murrieta, Temecula and I-15, and it carries commuter traffic, delivery trucks and construction vehicles heading to new home sites. Building in the valley means dirt and gravel tracked onto the road.
From there, most commuters get on I-15 or I-215 near the junction in southern Murrieta. Temecula's French Valley Parkway project, named after this valley, has been rebuilding the northbound ramps there. Phase 2 was finished in 2025 and more phases are still planned.
French Valley is also open and exposed. The valley sits below Bachelor Mountain and the Tucalota Hills, with Lake Skinner and the 702-acre French Valley Wildlife Area to the northeast. Dry Santa Ana winds in fall and winter push dust and grit across it, and summer afternoons are hot. Heat is what turns a chip into a crack. Read about Santa Ana winds and your windshield.
What it costs in French Valley
Our posted prices are the same here as in the cities around it: chip repair from $98, windshield replacement from $279, and $549 with calibration. Prices updated November 2026. See the pricing page.
Insurance usually covers glass under comprehensive, so you pay your deductible. California Insurance Code 758.5 lets you choose your own shop. Your insurer can recommend one but cannot require it.
Camera calibration for French Valley drivers
Most newer cars in the valley have a camera behind the mirror for lane keeping and automatic braking. After a new windshield, the automaker almost always requires that camera to be calibrated. We check your VIN, tell you in writing before we start, and hand you a printed result. Learn the difference in static vs. dynamic calibration.
